Lifeline Dog Training

You don’t have to be a dog trainer, learn how to train, or even be good with dogs just because you have one.

The Problem With

Private Dog Training

Usually, with private dog training, a trainer works with your dog while showing you how to do the training on your own. Training this way is stressful and puts too much pressure on you and your dog. It’s unrealistic to expect you to learn how to train your dog and correct unwanted behavior in one-hour lessons that happen only once a week. Most people will struggle with something, whether it’s with timing, technique, or execution, and dog trainers train dogs, but that doesn’t mean they can teach you how to do it.

At Lifeline Dog Training, we take a different approach, setting you and your dog up for success by training your dog for you. Then, we show you simple techniques to maintain your dog’s new behavior and provide lifetime training support.

Kris Webber

Dog Trainer, Owner

I started working with dogs in 2013 at a kennel-free dog daycare. Since then, I’ve been a dog handler, an attendant at multiple dog daycare facilities, a dog bather, a dog walker, a kennel tech, and an assistant trainer. Years of supervising twenty to fifty dogs daily have made me an expert at reading dog body language, so I’ll always know what your dog is feeling and thinking. This also helps me see most unwanted behavior before it even happens.

Being able to step outside myself to see the world through your dog’s eyes sets me apart from other trainers. If you’re looking for a dog trainer who can truly understand your dog, communicate with them, and know what it takes to change their behavior, schedule a free phone consultation with me today.

Balanced Reward-Based Training

Dog Training Methods

Balanced reward-based dog training uses positive reinforcement to teach new behaviors, using treats, praise, affection, and toys as rewards. Whenever your dog learns something new, the only consequence for getting something wrong is marking the behavior and not rewarding them. This lets your dog learn without fear of making a mistake. The balanced part means that corrections are introduced once a dog fully understands what’s being asked and decides not to listen.

A correction doesn’t mean something physical and can be anything your dog doesn’t like that makes a behavior happen less or stop. Every dog is different, so the kind and level of correction will differ depending on the dog. Balanced reward-based training teaches your dog that their behavior, whether it’s behavior we want or don’t want, has consequences that they’ll either like or won’t like. Behaviors with consequences your dog likes will happen more, and behaviors with consequences your dog doesn’t like will happen less or stop altogether.

Let A Dog Be A Dog

Dog Training Philosophy

We bring dogs into our homes and expect them not to act like dogs. We want dogs not to bark, chase other animals, chew things, or even get dirty, but these are natural dog behaviors. Everything we ask dogs to do or not do goes against their instincts, so I make giving your dog an outlet for their natural behaviors a part of training. You and your dog are different in almost every way, including how you communicate. When you understand and can communicate with your dog, it makes everything else so much easier. This is what we need to focus on…

10% Off All

Pit Bull Training

Pit Bulls are euthanized, abused, and abandoned more than any other dog. Around 728,000 Pit Bulls are euthanized every year. That breaks down to about 2,800 Pit Bulls every single day! So, to help bring these numbers down, I offer training to Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes at 10% off. When booking, mention your dog is a Pit Bull or Pit mix, and 10% will be taken off the cost of your dog’s training program.
